Towards more sustainable products and services
The environmental impacts from our products and packaging contribute significantly to the environmental footprint of our company. Therefore, we are committed to improving the environmental performance of our products and packaging. To achieve this, we are applying the innovation skills we’ve built for more than 60 years.
We have already integrated sustainability into our product development process, but developing and delivering more environmentally sustainable products to the market may take several years. Therefore, while we work on making our products more sustainable in the long run, we focus on how we can take immediate action to lower the environmental impact of our packaging by increasing recyclability and our use of renewable materials.
Addressing the plastic waste challenge
As we always put user safety first and to maintain high quality and hygiene standards, most of our products are single-use products made from plastic.
Plastic waste is a worldwide challenge, which we address by advancing recycling technologies, increasing plastic waste recycling within our production and developing new products with less use of material, less waste generated and more sustainable materials.
Phasing out hazardous substances
While all our products are biocompatible and safe for the intended purposes, we actively strive to reduce the negative health and environmental impacts of substances from our products and production processes.
Packaging
The primary packaging for our products often provides key functionalities such as usability and sterility to the products. Though this means we rarely find plug-and-play alternatives, we have initiated several projects to make our primary packaging more sustainable.
Our retail boxes and shipper boxes already consist of renewable materials and are recyclable, and majority of these materials are FSC-certified.
